Overview

It’s nerve racking to get stuck in Hanoi’s busy traffic, isn’t it? If so, then empty your mind with an escape into rural areas and hills through a 3-days tour from Hanoi to Sapa! We shall reach the Northwest Vietnam via the new Highway that can shorten both of your time and distance on the road. It’s where you could stay in some local stilt houses of H’mong ethnic group and discover more about their local cultures as well as Vietnamese people’s true beauty.

Itinerary

Day 1

Ha Noi – Sapa – Lao Chai, Ta Van, Giang Ta Chai Village (L,D)

Start a fresh morning day at your hotel from 6:30 - 7:00 am when our tour guide will pick you up for a quick departure to Lao Cai City. We shall travel on the new Highway Noibai, which only takes five hours to arrive at the place, so making Sapa no longer a nightmare. The drive will be safer and more pleasant than before, especially when you can enjoy the nature’s beauty roadside along your way: Immense rice paddies, unique village houses, misty mountains, etc.

At around 12:00, when Sapa Town gradually shows up in our eyes, don’t hesitate to take a few nice shots of the rugged landscapes around here. The town is described as an ideal oasis lying in the midst of a spectacular mountain range and rice paddies. Then you can enjoy your lunch in a local restaurant before the hotel check-in.

In the afternoon at 13:00 pm, our 4-hour trekking tour to Ta Van and Giang Ta Chai village kickstarts, allowing you to walk through the valley far out of the Sapa center. You’re taken by bus to the gate of Lao Chai village initially before we get to Ta Van Village. It’s nestled in the foggy cloud and remote from the busiest streets of Sapa, but you still feel its natural beauty through the 150 households living in the village.

As you know, a lot of visitors love to stay at the homestay of Ta Van village for a full experience with more minorities groups, especially H’mong. This groups is one of the most popular ones that you find only in Sapa area. Besides, there are two other minority groups: the Giay and the Dao that you can interact if you like.

Once coming to Ta Van village, you won’t only immerse yourself in the stunning nature landscape with the murmuring streams but also listen to the wild birds calling to find each other. You’ll get to witness its rustic beauty of the village that is mainly based on the mountain right in front of the Muong Hoa stream, or admire the yellow of the terraced rice fields on a beautiful clear day. And then we keep moving when we arrive at Giang Ta Chai Village.

At 17:00 pm, you’ll check in your homestay and enjoy a cozy dinner at Giang Ta Chai Village that shares the border with Ta Van village. This place surely makes your trek quite special - you have chance to trek through the bamboo forest and beautiful waterfalls. Besides, it’s where you can see Red Zao people who wear the colorful traditional costumes.

Day 2

Giang Ta Chai – Sapa Town (B,L,D)

Start your fresh day in the morning at around 7:30 am with a light breakfast before we return to Sapa Town by bus. Our tour guide will take you around the Sapa center at 08:30 am before letting you climb the mountain Ham Rong.

It’s where houses of Rock Garden and Orchid Garden that has over 6000 orchid plants of 194 kinds. Besides, you’ll see plenty of exotic flowers along the paths, such as hydrangea, ox-eyed daisy, lily of the Nile, and cheery blossom. If you’re interested, there are also many mountain fruits you can find here from peach, plum to pear.

Also, Ham Rong Mountain is famous for being one of the most magnificent and wonderful peaks of Sapa, where everyone can exercise for health and explore the beauty of nature. At an altitude of 1800m, we can contemplate the charming panorama of the whole Sapa Town. If it’s sunny, from here, you even view the peak of Fansipan right under the clear sky with beautiful white clouds floating around.

Around the lunchtime, at 12:00 when we all return to the restaurant and have lunch. Come to enjoy your relaxing time with great comfort. After that, you can have your free time in the afternoon and even the whole night for walking around the place and shopping. At 18:30 pm, after enjoying your dinner, you’ll get to spend leisure time for yourself in such a cool air of this touristic site. Spend overnight at the hotel.

Day 3

Cat Cat – Ha Noi (B,L)

Refresh your day with breakfast at 07:30 am by the time you kick off with a trip on foot to explore Cat Cat village of the ethnic H’mong people at 09:00 am. The village is about 2 km from Sapa Town, and was built in the mid 19th century by a group of ethnic people. They make living by growing rice and corns on the terraced paddies as well as growing the animal husbandry with the use of traditional methods.

Aside from that, they have some well-preserved handicrafts, so you will have chance to witness the local activities of the ethnic people. These include carving, weaving, cotton cultivation, making farm equipment, arts and crafts. Not just that, but you also can go sightseeing Cat Cat village, especially when you easily catch the great sight of women sitting and weaving next to the loom.

Under those skillful hands, the most colorful and pretties brocades are made, and women will dye them with a dyestuff created by some special leaves. Next, they will embroider them with many exotic patterns, from flowers, leaves to animals. With these fascinating activities, Cat Cat village is one of the most appealing attractions in Sapa for those who love to discover the ethnic group’s folk culture, and immerse themselves in an unspoiled nature.

Next, we shall have lunch at 12:00 in a local restaurant, and you’re given 2 hours to walk around and sightsee Sapa Town. Feel free to go shopping in your leisure time until 15:00 pm when our driver will take you back to Hanoi. Our tour ends here.
