Overview

This 10 day Irrawaddy River tour is jam packed with places to see and things to do, but also offers you free time to explore or relax. Arrive in Yangon and take time to explore or relax. Next you’re off to Bagan, where you will explore magnificent pagodas and the city by horse and cart. Enjoy a hot air balloon ride to marvel at a wonderful sunset. Take a cruise on Irrawaddy River and discover the life of the people along the way. Head off to Mandalay and go to Ubein Bridge and see the biggest book in the world made from marble.

Itinerary

Day 1

Yangon arrival

Upon arrival at Yangon airport, you will be greeted by your tour guide, who will escort you to your hotel and assist you with a fast check-in. Our traditional wedding present will surprise you when you enter your room. Take time to relax and enjoy the resort.

Day 2

Yangon – Bagan

After breakfast, we depart for Bagan, the plain of temples and pagodas, of the ancient kingdom and Buddhism. Once you arrive in Bagan, embark on a flowery horse cart ride along the outstanding temples and ruins of Bagan. The sunset will be simply magnificent while you enjoy a boat ride on Irrawaddy River.

Day 3

Bagan Discovery

Commence your day with a visit to Bagan local market then Shwezigon pagoda, the only golden pagoda in Bagan and discover the tales of Bagan. Our guide will introduce you to the history of Bagan while visiting Htilomino and Gawdamgyi pagodas. Your day is highlighted with a sunset Balloon Ride over Bagan. The experience is really nice to admire the sunset shining from the mountains onto rivers and temples.

Day 4

Bagan Cruise on Irrawaddy River

Embark on a luxury cruise at Bagan Aye Yar jetty and enjoy welcome drinks. Start cruising upstream to Mandalay. Visit a local village on the river bank and relax on the sunset deck.

Day 5

Cruise to Mandalay

Get up to sound of water and nature. Continue cruising to Mandalay, on the way we will visit Yandaboo village which is famous for Pot-Making, where the peace treaty of the First Anglo-Burmese war was signed on Feb. 24, 1826. Moor overnight near a village (Ywar Thit Gyi or Pauk Myaing Pauk Taw) a few miles away from Ava Bridge

Day 6

Mandalay city tour

Check-Out Time. Enjoy the sunrise. After an early breakfast, the passengers will disembark at Sagaing Jetty. Start visiting Amarapura, the former capital of Mandalay, embarking on a pleasant walk to Ubein bridge and relax on the lake Kuthodaw Paya - pagoda. In the afternoon, we will discover the highlights of Mandalay from Kuthodaw pagoda, known as the largest book in the world to Mandalay hill, the best viewing point for Mandalay panoramic scenery.

Day 7

Mandalay ancient capitals

A full days journey through the most scenic part of Mandalay, exploring the ancient capital of Mandalay: Sagaing Hill. This regional hub is now a centre for monks and education with various levels. After that, we will have time to ascend to Buddha cave and some most beautiful pagodas on Sagaing Hill, where you can behold the panoramic views of the Bagan plains. Continue by car to visit Mingun, an historical site located on the left bank of the Irrawaddy River. Back to Mandalay with a sunset cruise.

Day 8

Mandalay – Yangon

Discover the beautiful hill station of Pyn Oo Lwin with a scenic ride from Mandalay. Your tour guide will introduce you the charm of British houses and gardens, you can visit the colorful botanical gardens and a cascading waterfall. The tour goes further with the history of Pyn Oo Lwin and its uniqueness. Return to Yangon for the flight back to Yangon. Transfer to your hotel for a rest and free time.

Day 9

Yangon river trip

Today, we will venture by boat along the Yangon River to experience the true local life of Twante where the floating pagoda is located. As you travel further into the countryside, you will have a chance to know about the traditional ceramic villages, fishing villages, etc. Enjoy the sunset by the jetty on Yangon river.

Day 10

Yangon departure

Free time for shopping or to explore Yangon until our driver comes to pick you up for your departure flight. End of Sounds of Irrawaddy river.
