Itinerary

Day 1

HA NOI – SAPA - LAO CHAI – TA VAN, GIANG TA CHAI VILLAGE (L)

The journey will begin from 6:30 am to 7:00 am, when our tour guide picks you up at the hotel to leave for Lao Cai City, which is 245 km away. Generally, you’ll spend 5 hours traveling on the new highway Noi Bai to Lao Cai, but don’t worry since the bus ride can give you enough time to view the magnificent scenes of the area along the road.

Wait until 12:30 pm, when we arrive in Sapa town that is well-known for its finest, rugged landscapes and its cultural abundance. You’re going to have lunch at the local restaurant before checking in the hotel.

In the afternoon at around 13:00 pm, when we’re going to kick off a 4-hour trekking tour to Ta Van and Giang Ta Chai village. Our driver will drive you to the gate of Lao Chai village at first by the time you reach Ta Van Village, Ta Van Commune, Sapa District that features 150 households.

Though there are many ethnic minority groups living in this region, Giay ethnic group accounts for the majority of the population. And we can say that the culture of Giay people would be the most unique feature for you to learn once visiting the village. They believe in life after death, and their altar is not just dedicated to the ancestors but also the Kitchen God, Heaven and Earth genies as well as other spirits.

During the trek, there’s nothing greater than being overwhelmed by the majestic natural scenery surrounding you. Keep moving when we arrive at Giang Ta Chai Village.

In Giang Ta Chai village, you’ll also encounter many local ethnic minorities, but what you probably love here is a perfect getaway among the heart-touching scenery and spectacular mountain ranges. To trek to here, you need to set off on an 18 km trek through the terraced rice fields, bamboo forest and beautiful waterfalls.

Also, there’s a popular ancient rock formation with several engraved patterns we shall visit because the archaeologists are still studying those images carved there. It lies on the 8-square kilometers region in Muong Hoa Valley. And here, you can see a picturesque bridge associated by the rattan strings across Muong Hoa stream, far from the town, about 17 km to the Southeast.

At 17:00 om, we shall go back to Sapa town, enjoy our delicious dinner and then spend overnight at our hotel.

Day 2

CATCAT VILLAGE - HANOI (B,L)

Wake up in the morning to enjoy the freshest air and tranquil atmosphere only in Sapa, and then at 7:00 am, you’ll have breakfast at the hotel. So what’s next? The second day of your Sapa trekking tour kicks off with a trek to Cat Cat village of H’mong at around 9:00 am. The village is nestled at the foot of Muong Hoa Valley, about 2 miles from Sapa town.

The village was set up in the 19th century right after both ethnic H’mong and Dzao families arrived together from other mountainous regions in the north. They began cultivating rice and corn in the area, weaving fabric and making handicrafts like carved silver or agricultural tools for instances. In fact, this is a colonial French-discovered region that you can come and learn more about their culture, custom, and people.

In the lunchtime (12:30 pm), you’re provided with a meal at a local restaurant of Sapa town. During this time, you’re free to walk around for sightseeing or shopping.

In the afternoon, end your journey to the Northwest by returning to Hanoi. We shall end the tour in Hanoi at 20:30 pm.
