Ho Chi Minh City tour description
City and countryside contrast. This tour balances a full day of Ho Chi Minh City and Cu Chi Tunnels sightseeing with a full day cruising the Mekong Delta, giving travelers a rounded view of the South’s urban history and rural life.
Wartime history up close. Visit the Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and War Remnants Museum before descending into the underground tunnel network at Cu Chi, complete with living quarters, weapon workshops, and field hospitals.
Mekong Delta by boat and bicycle. Cruise the Tien River past Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise islands, stop for local fruit and honey tea, and cycle through Tan Thach village to meet local residents.
Relaxed arrival day. With free time built in on Day 1, travelers can rest after their flight or explore Ho Chi Minh City independently before the guided touring begins.

- Wartime traditions: Try tea and cassava root, the guerrillas' wartime staple, and (optionally, at extra cost) test the shooting range before returning to the city.

- Sampan cruise on the Tien River: Cruise past Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise Islands, the four islands that give the region its folkloric names.
- Unicorn Island: Walk among fruit orchards, sample tropical fruit, and enjoy folk music performed by local villagers.
- Thoi Son canal & honey-bee farm: Ride a hand-rowed sampan along a narrow canal, then visit a family workshop to taste honey tea and coconut candy being made.
- Tan Thach village: In the afternoon, cycle through the village to see rural daily life firsthand, or relax in a hammock if you prefer, before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
