Tour no1 – Luang Prabang

You may not have heard about Luang Prabang, but you can find it on UNESCO’s World Heritage city list. At this small, but very interesting, city will take the whole day, but it’s worth it. Luang Prabang is a good example of how two cultures fused and made an interesting mix of:

  • Lao traditional architecture
  • European urban structure

Although these two cultures were very different, Luang Prabang is a perfect example of their successful fusion. Once you get here, don’t miss to see:

  • temples like Vat Visoun, Vat Aham, Vat Xieng Thong
  • village at Ban Phanom
  • National Museum
  • Central Market
  • Mekong

Stay tuned to find out more about this city.

Tour no2 – Khouang Si waterfall

From Luang Prabang you can continue to Khouang Si waterfalls. These waterfalls are well known for their turquoise-green water. It tumbles over several layers of limestone and the whole waterfall is surrounded by green bushes. This waterfall is nice for seeing, but travelling all the way here just to see it doesn’t seem enough worth to some people. So, besides just actually watching the waterfall, tourists can entertain themselves in many other ways. There is a path leading around the base to the summit, and many picnic spots can be found along it.

Tour no3 – The Treasure of Laos

When you are looking for a perfect tour, the fact that there are many adventure tours in Laos may make your decision a little bit more difficult. Instead of worrying about this, just relax – you won’t make a mistake no matter which tour you choose. But, one especially deserves to be mentioned. The tour carries the name from the subtitle and it represents the best and most comprehensive way to discover all mysteries of Laos in just nine days. Yes, you’ve read well – this is not one day tour. It represents the most exclusive Laos tourism package.

Ready, set, go!

The tour starts in Vientiane, after you arrive. This first day you will be free to walk around the city and meet it by yourself. City has many highlights that should be visited, like:

  • Pha That Luang
  • Ho Pha Keo – former royal temple, a museum today
  • Wat Si Saket
  • Patuxai

Visiting Buddha Park (Wat Xieng Khuan) was planned for the second day. After you finish sightseeing and passing the night at Vientaine, you are ready to continue your trip to Vang Vieng (by vehicle or by a boat). Only one day is planned for this marvelous city, so you have to be very effective in order to see everything.

Famous caves

Laos is known for its unique caves – going to Laos and not visiting any of them would be such a shame. But if you decide to take The Treasure of Laos tour, then you don’t have to worry because the fourth and fifth day are dedicated to Phonsavanh. There you will have a chance to see marvelous caves, starting with Pha Thao Cave and continuing to Xang Cave. These caves are also known as Elephant caves.

Finish with Luang Prabang

Last three days of this tour are planned for visiting Luang Prabang. As aforementioned, this city can be found on UNESCO’s World Heritage list (the city is on the list since 1995). Shortly after your arrival to Luang Prabang, guiders will tell you the story of this city – how tradition needed to adjust to modern European colonial style. The oldest temple in the city dates from 1513 and inside it you can find collection of wooden Buddhas. From here you can continue to Wat Aham and Wat Xieng Thong – the most beautiful and very well preserved monasteries in this city. Don’t miss to see National Museum. For many people it’s hardly to believe that this building was Royal Palace once – it is very modest building which combines traditional Lao and French beaux-arts motives. And for the end of the day, climb to Phou Si to watch beautiful sunset.

But, this is not it. All aforementioned sightseeing was planned for the first day at Luang Prabang. The second day was planned for a boat excursion to Pak Ou Caves. These caves are filled with Buddha images. You will have a chance to have a good fun while travelling to them.
