Wat Mahathat was once the centre of the Sukhothai kingdom and remains the largest and arguably most impressive ruin within the park.
Opened in 1964, this museum contains a collection of artefacts, including ceramics, day to day items, ancient inscriptions and some of the more elaborate and well preserved stone carvings from the sites of Sukhothai.
The cradle of Thai civilization during the 13th and 14th centuries, the UNESCO world heritage-listed Sukhothai is Thailand's best historical park, at least in our humble opinion.
When viewed from the main public entrance, Hua Hin’s beach might seem like a lot of hype. Initially you meet a pleasant but not stunning stretch of sand punctuated by round, smooth boulders and bordered here by the Sofitel resort, which nearly kisses the high tide mark.

Ride along the Mekong River from Luang Prabang Laos, to Chang Rai – See the Mekong River and meet the local people that live along its shores. Share the slow boat to Thailand with locals going home from the market and watch life unfold along the Rivers Banks for this two day ride. Bring your own food and drink with you though and a book or some entertainment because it is a bare bones way of traveling. You can take a high speed boat, but what would be the fun in that?
Taling Chan floating market is one of the more popular local weekend markets to visit. Though it’s called a floating market, the land section has grown much larger than the boat market section, making way for a variety of interesting stalls and a bonanza of tasty snacks.
