What to discover in Rach Gam Xoai Mut Victory Relic
Rach Gam Xoai Mut Victory Relic was dedicated to the outstanding victory of the national hero of Nguyen Hue and the Tay Son rebel army. They put their effort in fighting against the Xiem army for their national independence. Rach Gam Xoai Mut was designated as a national relic in 1993. The relic site was refurbished in 2001 and it started to be open to the public on January 1st, 2005, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the battle of Rach Gam Xoai Mut.
The relic site has the area of more than 2ha and consists of the statue of Nguyen Hue, galleries (no.1 & no.2), an ancient house in the style of Cochinchina.

Rach Gam Xoai Mut Battle
Rach Gam Xoai Mut was a great battle on the river between the Xiem La army and the Tay Son army, starting on January 20th, 1785.
The national hero of Nguyen Hue ordered to lie in ambush next to the river of Rach Gam Xoai Mut and attack the enemy when they moved in the battlefield. With the wise strategy, Nguyen Hue and the Tay Son army prevailed the whole enemy and gain the glorious victory.
Eventually, after 14 years of fighting against the invaders, this was the first time the Tay Son army gained such a victory. Then, the Rach Gam Xoai Mut battlefield was described as a great wall to protect the nation.
